Bryant wins backstroke In Coffee Invitational

MOULTRIE – Hannah Bryant took first place in the 100-yard backstroke to lead the Colquitt County swim team in Saturday’s Coffee Trojans Christmas Invitational in Douglas.
Bryant’s winning time was 1:07.12. She also finished fifth in the 50-yard freestyle.
Lady Packers teammate Ella Rose Briones earned a silver medal for her second-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle.
Briones also was 10th in the 200-yard individual medley.
The Colquitt girls finished third in the invitational, which also included teams from Richmond Hill, Tift County, Coffee, Houston County, Thomas County Central, Pierce County, Appling County, Cook and Southeast Bulloch.
The Colquitt County girls also got a fourth-place finish from its 400-yard freestyle relay team, a fifth-place finish from its 200-yard medley relay team and seventh-place finish from its 200-yard freestyle relay team.
Gracie Strickland turned in an eighth-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Also competing for the Colquitt County girls were Daelyn Greeson, Claudia Tyson, Cindy Jo Cooper, Emmie Conn, Leila Hall and Lydia Jones.
For the Colquitt County boys, Jacob Medders was third in 200-yard individual medley and fourth in the 100-yard backstroke.
Andrew Perdew was eighth in the 50-yard freestyle and 14th in the 100-yard freestyle.
