LIVE OAK, Fla. — A Live Oak teen was killed after her SUV was hit by a semi-truck Tuesday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 18-year-old Amber Bradford tried to make a left-hand turn onto State Road 51 out of the S&S parking lot at intersection of SR 51 and County Road 250 at 10:40 a.m.

While attempting to pull out of the parking lot in her 1998 Jeep Cherokee, Bradford failed to observe oncoming traffic and pulled into the path of a 2004 Peterbilt semi, the FHP report states.

The front end of the semi, which was driven by 32-year-old Dunieski Garcia, of High Springs, struck the driver’s side of the SUV, according to the report. Both vehicles were disabled due to the damage of the accident.
