MOULTRIE — The Colquitt County High baseball program’s B-team has a chance to finish its season with a three-game winning streak when it takes on Crisp County at 5:30 p.m. today at Ike Aultman Field.
The streaky B-teamers have won two straight after enduring a six-game losing streak.
That losing streak began after the Packers had won three in a row.
Colquitt won 5-4 at Bainbridge last Thursday to end the losing streak.
Cody McLean pitched the first 5 2/3 innings, giving up just three hits, walking one and striking out six.
Patrick Taylor finished up.
Taylor, Ben Cauthen and Corey Tucker each had two hits and Nathan Cashwell chipped in another.
The B-teamers exploded offensively at Westover on Monday, defeating the Patriots by a football-sounding score of 26-7.
Cauthen, Caleb English and Blake Cato each had four hits in the game.
One of English’s hits was a legitimate inside-the-park grand slam in the second inning.
Michael Connell had three hits, including a long three-run homer in the seventh inning.
Cam Fitzgerald and Andrew McDowell each had two hits. McLean, Stephen Tyus and Bo Williams each had one hit for the Packers.
McDowell pitched three inning and Corey Tucker pitched four.
