MOULTRIE — One person was killed and two others injured by gunfire early Sunday morning. Police said a suspect is in custody.

At approximately 1:27 a.m., officers of the Moultrie Police Department and the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office responded to a “shots fired” call at a local apartment complex on Northside Drive Northwest, the Moultrie Police Department said in a press release Monday afternoon.

Officers’ initial investigation found three people had been struck by gunfire, police said.

One victim was severely injured and immediate life-saving measures were undertaken. That victim, identified as Reginald Tabor, 22, later died at the hospital from his injuries, police said.

The other two victims, ages 16 and 25, had serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

The GBI Crime Scene Unit assisted in the investigation, but the Moultrie Police Department credited continued community assistance with the arrest of a suspect. Police did not identify the suspect or say what he has been charged with.
