MOULTRIE — After no citizens from the City of Moultrie spoke regarding the rezoning requests made to City Council, they were all approved.

The first lot is on Tallokas Road (lot 338 of the 8th district), where Jeters Partners, LLC, sought to change the zoning from multi-family residential (R1) to neighborhood business district (C1).

Daniel Dunn, Councilman for District II, Post 5, motioned the rezoning, seconded by District I, Post 1 City Councilwoman Lisa Clarke Hill.

For the third and final consideration before approval, Cecil Barber, Councilman of District II, Post 4, carried the motion and Cole Posey, Councilman of District II, Post 3, seconded.

For the two remaining rezoning requests, both on Sunset Circle, Posey abstained his vote due to a personal investment on the project.

In the final reading, Hadley called for a motion and Dunn seconded the proposal.

Both lots on Sunset Circle are now rezoned to duplex residential district (R2) from commercial district (C3).

Baker Funeral Homes, LLC requested the rezoning of lot 354, while William Avery Investments, LLC requested the rezoning for the adjacent lot.

Also approved during the City Council meetings were the two following purchases:

Funded by TSPLOST, a $159,000 project was approved to complete road striping improvements throughout the entire City of Moultrie. Peek Pavement Marking LLC will complete this project.

Hill moved to approve the sole bids in each of these projects, and she was seconded by Hadley.
