Fall is just around the corner and the Colquitt County Arts Center is happy to introduce this new season with our upcoming Connecting Threads Exhibit featuring Quilts of Valor and Regional Fiber Artists. This is last call for Regional Fiber Artists to submit their $10 entry forms for this year’s Quilt Exhibit. Cash prizes of $100, $75, and $50 will be awarded at the Opening Reception to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for “Viewer’s Choice.” If you have a Quilt of Valor that you would like to display during the exhibit, the entry fee is waived. The Colquitt County Arts Center understands the time and skill it takes to complete these masterpieces and we are excited to display your artwork throughout our three main galleries. Please join us in supporting our local veterans and regional fiber artists during this display.

The exhibition will introduce the fall season right into ARToberfest! We are thrilled to announce our annual ARToberfest event to celebrate and showcase our local artists! This year, CCAC’S ARToberfest will be held at the Colquitt County Arts Center on Saturday, October 12th from 10 AM through 4 PM. This family friendly fall event will include handmade, original works by fabulous artists from across Southwest Georgia as well as a musical showcase of local and regional talent from classes offered at the Arts Center. Performances scheduled included the Good Life Drum Circle; Electric Violinist Eddy Fabrizio; Guitarist John Neely; The Family Village of Aya African Drum and Dance and a Tai Chi demonstration with Li Zhang. More fabulous groups are pending!! Everyone is welcome, and admission is FREE! If you would like to participate in ARToberfest as a vendor please do not hesitate to contact us at the Arts Center. Food vendors are beginning to register and we expect a variety of arts and crafts from members of the community and beyond. The fee for Arts & Crafts and Food Vendors is $20 with the vendor retaining all proceeds from sales. Food vendors must have a Safeserv certificate and insurance. Following ARToberfest that evening of October 12th, join us at Ashburn Hill Plantation for PEACE of Woodstock- a Woodstock music cover band in concert. Opening music will be provided by the CCHS Jazz Band and the headliners will take the stage at 8 PM. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy an evening of music under the stars. General admission tickets are $30 person and VIP packages with prefered seating and other perks are $45.
