Fatal shot was self-inflicted

MOULTRIE, Ga. — A Moultrie woman on Monday became the fifth Colquitt County resident to die from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a short period of time.

Moultrie police were dispatched at about 4:22 a.m. to the 1325 Fourth St. S.W. residence of Elizabeth Hunt.

Hunt, 73, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Colquitt County Coroner Verlyn Brock said.

“This was the fifth Colquitt County resident’s death from that source in a two-week period,” he said.
