Rising moisture levels coupled with a cold front are expected to create “strong to severe thunderstorms” Saturday night and Sunday.

Those storm will likely come in two or three rounds, according to the NWS, and are forecast to bring with them gusts of wind up to 60-80 mph, large hail and “excessive lightning strikes.”

Torrential downpours and isolated tornadoes are also possible. Rainfall is expected to be one to three inches.

As of post time, NWS was giving a 15-30 percent change of severe thunderstorms, but noted that probability may increase over the next couple of days.
