MOULTRIE, Ga. — A Tifton woman was treated for injuries sustained in a Wednesday evening accident in which a driver collided with the rear of her car.
Marvin Ruis, 70, of Moultrie and Kassandra Pina, 19, of Tifton were each driving south at 5:53 p.m. on U.S. Highway 319 South when Pina attempted to make a left turn onto Haven Hill Estates, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
Ruis’ 2002 GMC Sierra pickup truck slammed into the back of Pina’s 2006 Chrysler 300, the agency said.
Ruis told police that the wet pavement prevented him from stopping in time. He also tried to change lanes but was hindered by the trailer he was hauling.
Ruis was cited for following too closely.
Pina was treated at Colquitt Regional Medical Center and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.
