WORTH CO., Ga. – Janet Maude Begoon Smith, 83, of Worth Co., Ga. died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, at Pruitt Health-Magnolia Manor of Moultrie.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, at Doerun United Methodist Church with Pastor Jill Willingham officiating. Interment will follow in Kimball Cemetery in Doerun, Ga., and her grandsons will serve as casketbearers.
Born January 15, 1933, in Rockingham Co. Va., she was the daughter of the late Ralph Craig Begoon and Evelyn Wilberger Begoon. She was the co-owner of Sunbelt Auctioneers and was a member of Doerun United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Shirley Franklin Smith of Worth Co., Ga.; four sons, CW Smith and Charlotte of Moultrie, Ga., Stanley Smith of Sylvester, Ga., Roger Smith of Albany, Ga., and Jack Smith and Linda Gail of Albany, Ga.; two daughters, Debbie Bryan and Johnny of Sylvester, Ga., and Joy Hill and Maxwell of Tifton, Ga.; eighteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Jimmy Begoon and Barbara of Grottoes, Va.; and a sister, Betty Saufley and Bob of Mt. Crawford, VA.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
