QUITMAN, Ga. – Lennon Myers, 78, of Quitman, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Quitman Church of God with Rev. Gwin Jarriel officiating. Interment will follow at Kennedy Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Myers was preceded in death by his son, Joey Myers; sisters, Montine Ellison, and Vurna Purvis.
Mr. Myers was born June 18, 1937, to the late Bea Myers & Ruby Greene Myers. He was part owner of West Hill Bait & Tackle in Valdosta and was a member of Quitman Church of God. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Plymel Myers of Quitman; children, Patricia Gregory of Quitman, Teresa (Felix) Williams of Quitman, and Kimberly (Ronald) Woodworth of Thomasville; grandchildren, Casey Hodges, Natasha Hodges, Lennon Williams, Matthew Williams, Ray Creasy, Jr., and Hunter Woodworth; ten great grandchildren; brothers, Oklan (Lucy) Myers of Lenox, and Ronfurd (Sonya) Myers of Valdosta; sisters, Miracle (Earl) Wade of Quitman, Lenora (Tony) Del Rossi of Valdosta, and Alvlene Royal of Valdosta.
The family will be receiving friends Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Maxwell-Miller Funeral Home.
