VFW still unbeaten

MOULTRIE — VFW kept its Pony League record spotless on Monday with a 14-4 victory over Quality Employment at the Magnolia Sports Complex.
Russ DeMott was the winning pitcher and chipped in a pair of hits.
Ryan Sherling, Davis Durham, Chandler Carswell and Tyler Powell also had two hits each for VFW, now 6-0.
Quality Employment is 1-5.
In Monday’s other Pony League game, Brandon Sellers scored the winning in the bottom of the sixth inning as Clements Pools edged Ameris 7-6.
Stephen Moore worked the first five innings for Clements, but Daylon Connell got the win after pitching the sixth inning.
Moore went 4-for-4 in the game and Connell added two hits for Clements, 5-1.
Jacob Tompkins was 4-for-4, Blake Moore had three hits and Christopher Johnson had two for Ameris, 2-3.
Harper-McCall remained unbeaten in Midget League play on Monday with a 19-3 victory over Ameris.
Bryce Giddens was the winning pitcher and chipped in four hits. Megan May had three hits and Jared May and Brice Redding each had two for Harper-McCall, now 6-0.
Matthew Gerald had two hits for Ameris, 0-6.
In Monday’s other Midget League game, Market Barbecue defeated Mobley Plant 11-4.
Blake Bennett was the winning pitcher and Andrew Eunice had two hits for Market, now 4-2.
Aubrey McCarty and Anderson Glenn each had two hits for Mobley Plant, now 2-4.
Wendy’s raised its Farm League record to 6-1 and took over first place on Monday with a 14-9 victory over Lazarus.
Tristin Frazier led Wendy’s with four hits. Austin Mercer and Gabe Mobley each had three and Dalton Dillon and Cambrick Taylor had two for Wendy’s.
Eric Gould, Jacob Flinchum and John Gray each had three hits and Mack Hathcock and Austin Lasseter each had two for Lazarus, now 5-2.
In Monday’s other Farm League game, Zaxby’s defeated McAlpin Signs 8-2.
Preston Berry and Perry Wiard each had three hits and Hunter Hancock, Tyler Key, Jonah Bozeman and Ryan Wallace each had two for Zaxby’s, which raised its season record to 5-2.
Timothy Clay had two hits for McAlpin Signs, 3-4.
In Monday’s Tiny Mites action, Mobley Plant won over Larry’s Bait and Tackle 8-7, and Southwest Georgia Bank defeated Pizza Inn 12-7.
