Save your dollars

“If funding is uncertain for the farmers during this crictical time, it’s time for them to take a back seat over the next few years and not expect handouts. Save up your money like everyone else and you will have money for the bad years.”



Good suggestion

“The name Sunbelt Parkway is a good suggestion. It’s non-partisan and particularly would appeal to those who attend the Sunbelt Expo.”



A suggestion

“People are stealing things from churches to re-sell. It would be good for the owners of this equipment to engrave their telephone numbers into the casing of this equipment.”



I agree

“I agree with Mr. Maxwell’s comments on the aliens’ driver’s license issue. I hope we will get the governor out of office.”



Where are the holes?

“Where have the holes gone where we put flag poles in downtown? We need to keep these and fly our flags.”

“In reference to ‘I disagree.’ Number 1, it wasn’t an election. Also I never said anything about stopping it. My objection was to the arrogant, high dollar, high pressure tactics that were used to get it passed. I thought that was inappropriate for the times. And I feel the same way about the actions of the Democrats in Atlanta trying to get their way with the redistricting rhubarb. I’m sorry you misunderstood what I said.”



Flag issue

“I want to reply to the person who keeps saying that the high school is not flying its flag. I want you to know that we fly it every day from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. I’m the one in charge of it.”



Honors their memory

“I agree that the tax vote should not have been stopped. Indeed it would have been what the terrorists would have wanted. This is not disrespectful of those killed in that trageday. In fact, I think it honors their memory that these hoodlums from the Mideast cannot stop our democracy.”



License issue

“I agree that Gov. Barnes has overstepped sound logic in proposing that illegal aliens get driver’s licenses. This does not help discourage what is illegal but rather condones it.”



Church thefts

“There should be special puninshment for anyone who would steal from a church. I sure there will be when these people meet their Maker.”



Nice look

“I am pleased with the way the sidewalks are looking downtown. I think we have stumbled over broken pavement long enough.”



Need a response

“I would like to hear the local health department’s response to the complaints about those restaurants where health codes obviously are being violated.”
