William Henry Morse
NORMAN PARK — William Henry Morse, 69, of Norman Park, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Dec. 10, at Baker Funeral Home with the Revs. Richard Griner and Jimmy Morse officiating. Burial will be in Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Danny Latimer, Robert Weeks, Therman Tillman, Doug Weeks, Johnny Norman and Jimmy Chapman. Honorary pallbearers will be Cecil Morton, Carl Hamm and Harrison Sears.
Born Jan. 9, 1933, in Worth County, Mr. Morse was the son of the late Jacob E. and Bertha Cribb Morse. He was retired. Mr. Morse was a veteran and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Emma Laseter.
Survivors include his wife, Ernestine Bailey Morse; sons, William Richard (Ricky) Morse and wife Gloria of Moultrie, Everett (Eddie) Morse and wife Shirley, Terry Morse and wife Tina all of Norman Park; daughters, Virginia Diane Conger and husband Raymond of Norman Park and Gwendolyn Charlotte McHan and husband Danny of Moultrie; brothers, Allen Morse of Wachula, Fla., J.T. Morse of Norman Park, David L. Morse of Doerun, and Dan Morse of Chickamauga; sisters, Ella Mae Morse of Doerun, Edna Davis of Pelham and Bessie Kersey of Valdosta; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchildren.

Myrtle Castleberry McMurphy
MOULTRIE — Myrtle Castleberry McMurphy, 68, of Moultrie died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mark Folsom officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery.
Born June 15, 1934, in Colquitt County, Mrs. McMurphy was the daughter of the late Eloise Truett Castleberry and Irvin Castleberry. She was a retired florist with Hornbuckles Wholesale Florist and was a member of the Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Boyd McMurphy Sr.
Survivors include sons, William Boyd McMurphy Sr., Audie C. McMurphy Sr. and Hugh Boyd McMurphy Jr. all of Moultrie; daughters, Frances Ileen Phillips of Sevierville, Tenn., Cheryl Lynn McCoy and Latrina Diane Davis both of Moultrie; brothers, Jessie Castleberry of Moultrie and Buddy Irvin Castleberry of Ellenton; sisters, Shirley Hart of Ellenton and Lorett Hewitt of Omega; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Lucious Marshall Presley
PAVO — Lucious Marshall Presley, 79, of Pavo, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Blow officiating. Burial will be in Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Lamar Carlton, Ollie Hortman, Jay Hortman, Thomas Presley, Lee Knight and Wayne McNeil.
Mr. Presley was born in Murray County on Nov. 22, 1923 to the late Stella Ellis Presley and Brown Presley. He lived most of his life in Colquitt and Thomas Counties in the Autreyville Community.
He graduated from Moultrie High School in 1941 and attended Walker Park Technical School in Monroe before joining the Army Air Corp where he served as an airplane mechanic during World War II.
He was a member of Enon Baptist Church in Thomas County. He was a farmer who enjoyed wood carving as a hobby.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Eula Fortner, and his stepmother, Lenore Parham Presley.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Luella Johnston Presley; one daughter, Sheron Joiner and husband Bobby of Moultrie; two sons, Royce Presley and wife Marynelle of Hazelhurst and David Presley and wife Derotha of Pavo; seven grandchildren, Ellen Joiner Woodward and husband Todd of Valdosta, Elaine Joiner Bivins and husband Richard of Marietta, Marsha Joiner Hawkins and husband Michael of Boston, Mass., Erin Presley Rogers and Art of Odom, Lu
ke Presley of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., John Presley of Fort Lewis, Wash., Thomas Presley of Pavo; two great-grandchildren, Lucina Hawkins and Joseph Woodard; three brothers, Donald Presley of Chambler, Darrell Presley of Hampton and Darwin Presley of Moultrie; and two sisters, Maureen Stovall of Gainesville and Delores McCoy of Douglasville.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
