MOULTRIE, Ga. — Burglars tore plumbing fixtures from the walls of a former gym last weekend.

Roscoe Stallings, of Norman Park, owns the building at 5 10th St. S.E. in Moultrie, which formerly housed Dominga Boxing and Fitness.

Sometime between Friday and Sunday, someone broke into the building through the back door, police said, and removed two sinks from the restrooms, a 60-gallon water heater, a double kitchen sink, a shower stall and 100 feet of baseboard. The officer noted “quite a bit of damage to the walls.” The stolen items were valued at $4,100, but there was no estimate on the value of the damage.

• A clerk at Susie Q’s, 1607 Camilla Highway, reported a woman entered the store Monday afternoon. She ate some ice from a cooler, then wandered through the store. She opened a bag of chips and ate some of them then put the bag back on the shelf. She walked around some more before opening a second bag of chips, spilling some of them in the floor and sweeping them under the display. She wandered through the store some more then left.

One bag of chips was valued at 59 cents and the other at 79 cents.

• Ariadna Millan, of Moultrie, reported Sunday that she laid her cell phone down at Walmart to tend to her child. She walked a few steps away, then when she returned the phone was gone. It was valued at about $180.

Sheriff’s Office

• Eleanor Wilburn, 2200 block Vinson Road, Meigs, told deputies this week that she had reported a burglary about a month ago. At that time she found nothing missing, but she had now noticed a cell phone, two drill/drivers and a breaker missing.

• Kenneth Vinson, 100 block Bryan Road, Hartsfield, reported a handgun and holster were stolen from his Toyota Tundra. He had last seen the Diamondback 9mm pistol on May 17, and he noticed it missing on Sunday.

• Angel McClelland, 200 block Indian Lake Drive, Norman Park, told deputies someone had towed her 2000 Kia Sephia without her permission Friday from a residence in the 1400 block of Fifth Street Southeast.

• Jeremy Hilton, 300 block Allegood Road, reported the theft of items from a storage unit in that same block Saturday. Missing were an XBox 360, a metal box, miscellaneous baseball cards and collectible coins belonging to Joshua Holton, 2700 block Fifth Street Southeast. A padlock was damaged.

• Brandy Hancock, 4800 block Lower Meigs Road, told deputies a bottle of prescription medication was stolen from within her vehicle Tuesday or Wednesday.

• Larry Phillips, 200 block Cherokee Drive, Norman Park, told deputies Wednesday that two bottles of prescription medicine was taken from a medicine cabinet in his residence.

• Donna Robison of Moultrie, reported Monday that a tenant’s rent check had been stolen. Robison said the tenant told her they had put the check in the mailbox, but she later learned someone had tried to cash that check at Somesh Package Store, 205 Fifth St. S.E.

• Marcus Miller, 100 block Greene Dairy Road, reported Monday that someone used his name and address to open an account in Texas in May.

• Donnie Horn, of Moultrie, reported Monday that all four tires of his 2012 Hyundai Veloster had been punctured some time over the weekend. The tires were valued at about $400.

• Variety Canteen, 1121 First St. N.E., reported Monday the back door of the business was pried open in an apparent burglary attempt. Damage was estimated at less than $500.

• Rayanne Casteel, of Moultrie, reported her 2018 Kia Cadenza was damaged while in the 700 block of Eighth Avenue Northwest Sunday evening.
