MOULTRIE – Organizations from around the community have planned several events and activities for the month of February.

The Moultrie-Colquitt County Library System

From February 1 through 15, there will be a Valentine’s Day card station in the library so that patrons can make cards.

On February 4, the library is hosting its “Newlywed Game,” starting at 6 p.m. Participating pairs do not have to be newlyweds to play. Couples can consist of a spouses, friends or family members that want to test their knowledge of how well they really know each other. The pair that has the most matching answers wins a prize. A “Sip and Paint a Partner” event is happening February 11, at 6 p.m. Participants will paint a portrait of their partner while their partner paints one of them. All materials will be provided. Please RSVP to the library at (229) 985-6540.

Also, on February 11, the Brown Bag Book Club meets at 11 a.m. This book club just turned 13 years old. Bring a book and talk about it with other book lovers.

In the library’s auditorium, February 18, there is a movie night scheduled, complete with popcorn. The movie showing is “Lisa Frankenstein” and patrons are welcome to bring their own blankets or to use the chairs in the auditorium.

Daddy Daughter Dance

The annual Daddy Daughter Dance, sponsored by Colquitt County Serenity House, is February 1, at Southern Regional Technical College, 800 N. Veterans Pkwy. The Grand March starts at 5 p.m. and participants must be in line by that time. Tickets for a dad and daughter are $40, additional daughters are $5 and the Grand March is $10. Tickets are at Georgia’s Own Credit Union and Ameris Bank Downtown. For more information, contact the Serenity House at (229) 782-5394.

2025 Women’s Summit

The 2025 Women’s Summit is February 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Southern Regional Technical College conference room, 800 N. Veterans Pkwy. This event is a full day filled with complimentary health screenings and resources specifically designed for women and girls. Enjoy free crafts, haircuts, a nail bar, giveaways and a cafe. Power Wheels Derby

On February 1, the Moultrie-Colquitt County Parks and Recreation Authority is having a Power Wheels Derby at the Jim Buck Goff Complex. It is for ages 2 to 7 and the cost is $10 per entry. Trophies will be awarded to 1st through 3rd place in each division, along with a prize for best decorations. For more information, call (229) 668-0028 or email connie.fritz@mccpra.com.

Hunting Heritage Banquet

The Colquitt County Double Gobble Hunting Heritage Banquet, sponsored by the Georgia National Wild Turkey Federation, is February 20, in the Family Life Building at Spence Field.
