Anita Maria Jordan

MOULTRIE — Anita Maria Jordan, 70, of Moultrie died Sunday, May 6, 2007 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, May 12 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Alfred Jones officiating assisted by the Revs. Billy Williams, Jesus Delangel and Galen Mirate. Burial will follow in Strong Memorial Gardens with William Lattimore, Jonathan Gary, Jerron Blakely, Bobby Wells, Ronald Jordan Jr., Melvin Dabney III, Bill Hicks and Terrence Paschal serving as pallbearers. Ricardo W. Jordan, Ricardo Jordan II, John W. Jordan III, Linton Mapp, Ronald Jordan Sr., Robert Jordan and Darrell Smith serving as honorary pallbearers.

Born Sep. 3, 1936 in Honduras, Central America, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Taylor and the late Mary Manley. She was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, John W. Jordan Jr. and a son, Ralph Jordan.

Survivors include three sons, Ricardo Jordan and wife Radika of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Ronald Jordan and wife Margie and Robert Jordan both of Moultrie; two daughters, Sandra Barnes and husband Ronnie of Moultrie and Miriam Jordan Smith and husband Darrell of Cocoa, Fla.; three sister-in-laws, Louise Davis, Eunice Jordan and Lulu Jordan; an adopted son, Linton Mapp of FarRockaway, N.Y.; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives, in-laws, friends and neighbors.

Visitation will be tonight, May 11 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Luke Strong and Son Mortuary Chapel.

The family will receive friends and family at the 163 Kendallwood Drive home of Sandra and Ronnie Barnes.

Myra K. Riggins

OMEGA — Myra K. Riggins, 57, of Omega died Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at Magnolia Manor South Nursing Home.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 13 at Crosland Baptist Church following the morning worship.

Baker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.



Iris Blank Griffin

MOULTRIE — Iris Blank Griffin, 86, of Moultrie died Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at Phoebe Putney Hospital in Albany.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, May 12 at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Hugh Ward officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m., Monday, May 14 at Andersonville National Cemetery in Andersonville, Ga. The Cornerstones Senior Group will serve as honorary casketbearers.

Born Sep. 6, 1920 in Lansing, Mich., she was the daughter of the late Ira Blank and Blanche Blank Underwood. She was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the Army Auxiliary Corps. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Griffin.

Survivors include three daughters, Carol Aycock and husband Dick of Moultrie, Peggy Siscoe and husband Wayne and Janet Petito, all of Seattle, Wash.; two brothers, Arthur Blank of Lansing, Mich. and Ray Blank of Leslie, Mich.; a sister, Ann Hartley of Lansing, Mich.; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the funeral service.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church.

Mary Joan Black Lane

MOULTRIE — Mary Joan Black Lane, 73, of Moultrie died Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at her home.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, May 12 at Oak Dale Cemetery with the Rev. Sammie Hiers officiating.
