Middle school artists recognized in Youth Art Month event

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Middle school winners of Colquitt County Arts Center’s Youth Art Month Exhibit included Aide Reyes, “Cityscape,” first place; Ellie Bloodworth, “Majestic Waterfall,” second place; and Aralyn Cooper, “Mandala Power,” third place.

Students from Willie J. Williams, C.A. Gray, and Colquitt County High School participated in an exhibit showcasing student artwork in honor of Youth Art Month.

The opening reception was held at the Colquitt County Arts Center on March 2. The exhibit will be open until the end of the month.

Other middle school students participating are:

• Sixth Grade: Sydney Nagle and Jesenia Aguilar.

• Seventh Grade: Audrie Leija, LeAnna Gay, Wendy Velazquez, Aralyn Cooper, Michelle Najera, Angel Gutierrez, Aide Reyes, Israel Gachuz, Mariana Salas, Evelyn Vazquez, Hailey Fender, Shelby Reed, Misty Hasty, Nathalie Perez, Keaton Beck, Alicia Gonzalez, Isabella Herrera, and Natalie Charles.

Youth Art Month is a national recognition of student artists held annually in March. Locally, it was endorsed by Willie J. Williams Principal Jamie Horne, Colquitt County Schools Superintendent Doug Howell, and City of Moultrie Mayor William M. McIntosh, who also attended the opening ceremony.
