Elizabeth Hall Tillery

MOULTRIE — Dessie Elizabeth Hall Tillery, 88, of Moultrie, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, at Apage Health and Rehab of Moultrie.

Funeral services will be 11 A.M., Saturday, Feb. 7, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Rodney Nix and the Rev. Mark Jordan. Interment will follow in Wrights Chapel Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Eric Nix, John Gray, Blake Tillery, Cole Nix, Joey Tillery and Reid Nix.

Born in April 29, 1926, in Ashburn, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Joseph Ashton Hall and Dessie Rosella Howell Hall. She was a homemaker and was a member of Riverside Holiness Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Robert Tillery; two brothers, Arnold Hall and Hubert Hall; and three sisters,  Elyse Allen, Miriam Cardwell and Laverne Johnson.

Survivors include one son, Harold Tillery and wife Marilyn of Moultrie; two daughters, Carolyn Hegwood and husband Franklin of Millington, Tenn., and Maurice Nix and husband Rodney of Moultrie; eight grandchildren, Shannon Nix, Eric Nix, Steve Nix, Sonja King, Joey Tillery, Tracy Rushing, Michael Hegwood and Amelia Hegwood; 16 great-grandchildren, Zachary Rushing, Chelsea Rushing, Blake Tillery, Anna Tillery, John Gray, Reid Nix, Corrin Nix, Rachael Nix, Calab Nix, Hannah Nix, Cole Nix, Cayla Nix, Ryan Hood, Randall Carr, Jenna King and Baylee King; two great-grandchildren, Jack-Houston Rushing and Ava-Caroline Rushing; three sisters, Vernelle Bates, Voncille Taylor, both of Moultrie and Othelle Thompson of Grand Ridge, Fla.; and one brother, Develle Hall and wife Christine of Moultrie.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., today, Feb. 6, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
