Patricia Edna Gladney Yancey, 86, of Moultrie, died Monday, May 5, 2014, at Agape Health and Rehab in Moultrie.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, May 8, at Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronald Barrett officiating, assisted by the Rev Andy Cashwell. Interment will follow in Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens. Casketbearers will be Steve Bass, Carlton Dunlap, Larry Lairsey, Terry Smith and Sammy Williamson and J.A. Norman.
Born Sept. 30, 1927, in Augusta, Ga., she was the daughter of the late J.W. Gladney and Ruth Sheppard Gladney. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Shirley R. Winnie and Frieda J. Macat; her brothers, Kyle S. Maley Jr. and Raymond W. Gladney.
Survivors include her husband, Herman Wallace Yancey of Moultrie; her son, Vernon F. Yancey and wife Elizabeth of Sycamore, Ga.; special daughter, Marie Smith of Texas; six grandchildren, Patricia Douglas and husband Levi of Norman Park, Joyce Caton and husband Billy and Chad Yancey, all of Sycamore, Ga., and Richard Simmons, Skippy Simmons, Timmy Simmons and wife Brandi, all of Phoenix, Ariz.; 18 great-grandchildren; and her care taker, Tommie Branch.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., today, May 7, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
