MOULTRIE — Three men were arrested Sunday morning in connection with a burglary at the former Riverside Manufacturing plant, thanks to trail cameras that had been placed on the property.
The men — ages 28, 36 and 45 — were apprehended within about 30 minutes of the crime being reported, authorities said.
Both the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office and Moultrie Police assisted in the arrest.
The keyholder of the building became aware of the intruders from pictures sent to his phone via trail cameras he had placed on the property due to a prior issue with vandals.
According to Will Pierce with the CCSO, all three have admitted to being present in the building, but they claim to only have been there for exploration purposes; however, during the arrest, backpacks holding tools usually needed for the purpose of a burglary were confiscated, Pierce said.
Each suspect faces two charges: burglary in the second degree and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.
