- The Moultrie Police Department is requesting assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a burglary that occurred at China Café in Moultrie on Jan. 11, shown in this still photo captured from a security video at the restaurant.
MOULTRIE, Ga. — The Moultrie Police Department is asking for the community’s help in identifying a suspect photographed in his attempt to burgle China Café.
The suspect forced entry into the front doors of the restaurant, located at 801 First Avenue S.E., around 3:30 a.m. Jan. 11. He stole $50 in cash and a lockbox potentially containing $400, according to the police report.
Police officers arrived on the scene shortly after. Upon arrival and securing the premises, Officer Jolicia Tabor found a shoe left behind which is “believed to belong to the offender.”
The door couldn’t be dusted for fingerprints due to China Café being a public establishment and there being layered fingerprints on the door’s glass, according to the report.
Further observation showed two slightly open cash registers with change present, the report said, but no dollar bills.
