Church anniversary

The members of Union Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate 116 years in existence during a program at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24.

The Rev. Freddie Williams Jr. is the pastor and married to Sylvia Pittman Williams. He served as interim in 2013 and was called and installed as pastor Oct. 11, 2014. The church has had 13 pastors and three interim pastors over the span of more than a century.

The Rev. Roland Jenkins and his congregation will be in charge of the service. He is the pastor of New Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Acree, Ga. He and his wife Odessa have six children, eight grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Turkey giveaway
