Anniversary
Union Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Rev. Freddie Williams and elect lady Sylvia Williams at 7 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, Oct. 8-10, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, at the church, 103 Second St. N.W.
Suicide prevention
NAMI Moultrie, the local chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and Georgia Pines Mental Health and Addictive Disease Services will sponsor “Ask a Question — Save a Life,” a suicide prevention workshop, 2-4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, at Southern Regional Technical College.
The training was designed by the QPR Institute, whose acronym stands for Question, Persuade and Refer. Learn the signs of crisis, ask the question and help others receive the help they need.

The Georgia Pines Community Service Board for area mental health, developmental disabilities and addictive diseases services has scheduled a meeting to be held 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, at the Georgia Pines Administrative Offices Conference Room, 1102 Smith Ave., Thomasville. NAMI Night
Denise Linnenkohl, director of the Colquitt County Health Department, will speak on “Getting to Know Your Health Department” Monday, Oct. 7, during NAMI Night. NAMI Night, the monthly meeting of the Moultrie chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is held at the First United Methodist Church fellowship hall, Fifth Avenue at Second Street Southeast. The educational meeting begins at 6 p.m., and support groups meet at 7.
