MOULTRIE – Fuller’s Fried Chicken, 209 Fifth Street Southeast, has gone red. On Friday the restaurant staff wore red #TrippStrong t-shirts in support of Tripp DeMott, the local 7-year-old who was struck by an SUV Sept. 11.

“We hope that by doing this the other restaurants and businesses will do the same and help support the family with the shirts,” said Mary Hurst, an employee at Fuller’s Fried Chicken.

According to Hurst, the employees all got together to decide how they were going to help support the DeMott family and settled on purchasing shirts from the DeMott Tractor Co. Facebook page to wear in support for a day.

“Mr. DeMott and his family eat here with us often and supports us, so we knew we had to support them too,” said Hurst.

The t-shirts are being sold for $20 on the DeMott Facebook page and the proceeds will go towards helping the family pay their expenses.

“The community to should come together for things like this,” said Hurst. “We’ve seen the ribbons and all, and we just wanted to do something a little more.”
