State drops death penalty plans in Peacock case

MOULTRIE, Ga. — In a hearing this morning, prosecutors announced they would not seek the death penalty against Jeffrey Alan Peacock.
Peacock is accused of killing five people then setting their house on fire May 15, 2016.

The decision clears the way for a trial in the case this summer.
