MOULTRIE, Ga. — A Wednesday morning domestic dispute that started when a man listening to music did not hear his girlfriend speaking ended up with both going to jail and the woman to the hospital after suffering a seizure.
Police were dispatched at 3:42 a.m. to the residence of Carneata Agnes Clark’s 209 Second St. N.W. residence to investigate a domestic dispute.
Kerry Yarnell Williams, who also lives at the residence, told police that he did not hear Clark talking to him because he had ear phones in his ears, and they then began arguing over a lighter and then a cell phone. Williams told police that he became so upset he considered taking his belongings and leaving.
When officers spoke to Clark, she said she felt neglected.
During a previous call to the residence officers had discussed with Clark the process of serving Williams with a trespass notice, police said.
About an hour and 37 minutes later, police again were called to Clark’s residence, where both were outside and arguing loudly, police said. At that time both Clark, 25, and Williams, 28, were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
A short time after arriving at Colquitt County Jail Clark, who had been placed in a holding cell, had a couple of seizures and paramedics were called.
Clark, 25, who was unresponsive, was issued a subpoena to appear in court.
She was treated at Colquitt Regional Medical Center and was later released, a hospital spokeswoman said on Thursday.
