VALDOSTA — A prayer service for people impacted by Hurricane Michael will be held Tuesday, Oct. 23, at the historic Lowndes County Courthouse square, 108 E. Central Ave., according to a county spokeswoman.
Prayers will be offered 6:30-7 p.m. for military responders, those who had to be relocated, public safety responders, volunteers and communities working to recover from the storm, said Paige Dukes, Lowndes County clerk and the county’s public information officer.
Hurricane Michael slammed the Florida Panhandle / Big Bend region as a Category 4 storm Oct. 10, cutting a deadly swath of destruction into southwest Georgia.
