MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. — A 52-year-old Milledgeville man, accused of having attacked another local man in the yard of his residence earlier this year, was among several defendants indicted by a Baldwin County grand jury recently, according to records filed in the Baldwin County Superior Court Clerk’s Office.
Grand jurors returned true bill of indictments against Baldwin Bernard “Troy” Barnes on charges of aggravated assault and criminal trespass, court records show.
The assault charge filed against Barnes stems from a fight with a man who eventually was hit over the head with some type of an object, according to an incident report filed by Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Ernesto Lopez.
The victim received bruises and scrapes to his chest and around his collarbone.
After the attack, Barnes reportedly left the residence of the victim in his pickup truck.
The fight reportedly was over an accusation that Barnes made against the victim.
Barnes, himself, was injured in the fight and was taken to the local hospital for medical treatment. He told the deputy that he had been knocked unconscious several times during the fight with the victim.
