A 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Keon Lamar Caldwell, 32, of Moultrie, was driving on Highway 37 behind Smith’s 1999 Acura, the Georgia State Patrol said. Smith started to turn left into a private driveway near Mile Marker 17 when the pickup struck the back of her car.

Caldwell, who was not hurt, was charged with following too closely.

Everyone was properly restrained by seat belt or child seat, the GSP said.
