BEAUMONT, Texas — Henritta Thomas Johnson announces the graduation of her daughter, Aliyah E’she Thomas, from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, with a Bachelor of Science degree in corporate communications.
The ceremony will be held Saturday, Dec. 17, at Montagne Center in Beaumont.
Miss Thomas is the daughter of Isaac Thomas Fromley of Moultrie; and granddaughter of Vera Thomas of Moultrie and the late Freddie Lee Robinson.

TROY, Ala. — Cesar Barrios of Moultrie, Ga., has been selected by Troy University as a “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.”
“Who’s Who” recognizes juniors, seniors and graduate students who have excelled in campus leadership and in their academic area. Selections are made based on academic standing, community service, leadership ability and potential for continued success.
This year’s recipients were honored by Troy Chancellor Dr. Jack Hawkins Jr. and First Lady of Troy Janice Hawkins during a reception on Thursday, Dec. 1, at the chancellor’s residence on the Troy Campus.

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. — Jordan Forehand of Moultrie, Ga., has been named to the Dean’s List at Emmanuel College, Franklin Springs, Ga., for the fall semester of the 2016-17 academic year.
To be named to the Dean’s List a student must earn a quality point average of 3.60 or higher during a given semester and be enrolled full-time.
Earning Dean’s List status is a high scholastic honor for students at Emmanuel College and is evidence of much hard work and motivation for learning.
