Stringfellow Elementary School recently hosted a pirate themed bookfair, ‘Bookaneer Bookfair’ and invited Katrina McIntosh — the wife of Moultrie Mayor Bill McIntosh and herself a retired teacher — to visit and read a fun, rhyming book, ‘Are Pirates Polite?’ to kindergarten students.
McIntosh delivered a wonderful story and message to students. The book by Corinne Demas and Artemis Roehrig features pirates’ questionable activities with their lead-by-example lessons in manners and was a fun way to celebrate a pirate-themed book fair.
