MAYO, Fla. – The University of Florida Department of Astronomy is hosting a night of astronomy and stargazing at Lafayette Blue Springs State Park Saturday, June 25 from 8-11 p.m.

The UF Astronomers will be on hand with telescopes, activities for all ages and to answer your space-related questions. Experience the universe in a beautiful natural resource of Florida.

According to Rachel Wagner-Kaiser, a graduate student at the University of Florida Astronomy Department, the Astronomy Department regularly hosts a variety of outreach events, however, these astronomy events are almost always held in Gainesville.  The department decided they wanted to provide the same opportunities to more Florida communities.

This event is made possible by UF Department of Astronomy, Florida State Parks and the UF Bob Graham Center.

This event is free with park admission ($5 per vehicle for up to 8 people) and open to the public. Adult supervision for children is required.
