PAVO — Hilton Carroll Cooper, 81, of Pavo, Ga., died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, at Agape Health and Rehabilitation in Moultrie, Ga.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, at Cobb Funeral Chapel in Moultrie with the Rev. James Davis and the Rev. Robert McCoy officiating. Interment will follow in Lebanon Cemetery in Pavo.
Casketbearers will be Benjamin Strickland, Michael Ellis, Ryan Hall, Rick Stephenson, Norris Cooper and Carlo Cooper.
Born March 12, 1934 in Brooks County, he was the son of the late Ezra Cooper and Jewell Carroll Cooper and was a member of Ione Methodist Church. He married the love of his life Robbie Neal Richardson and was blessed with two wonderful children. He worked along with his wife as a team farming the land. In 1970 they established Hilton Cooper and Son Produce Co. in Thomasville, which they centered on buying produce from local farmers and shipping out to retail businesses. During this time, Hilton and Robbie became involved in the cattle business in which he retired in 2003 but they still continued with the cows and maintaining the farm. His family remembers how he loved fishing, playing basketball, his family and his church.
Survivors include his wife, Robbie Neal Richardson Cooper of Pavo; two children, Carroll James Cooper and Sharon Simmons of Thomasville, and Dr. Susan Malinda Cooper Hall and Jeff of Pavo; and four grandchildren, Kelly Ellis and Michael, Lori Neal Saunders and Joseph, Whitney Hall and Ryan Hall.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, at Cobb Funeral Chapel in Moultrie
