Two brothers are accused in the beating of a Moultrie man who reportedly gave one of them $100 to purchase cigarettes and got no smokes and only $10 back.

Gerrardo Rivera-Salazar, 44, and Alberto Rivera-Salazar were arrested in a Nov. 25 run-in with Christopher Rivera.

Rivera was drinking with friends some time before midnight in the 1600 block of Overlook Drive when a scuffle occurred, police said.

He said that he gave Gerrardo Rivera-Salazar a $100 bill to buy cigarettes for him. Gerrardo Rivera-Salazar did not go to the store and when Rivera asked for his money back he only gave him a $10 note.

Later when Rivera asked where was his $100 the other brother “head-butted” him in the face and then both began fighting with him. He fought back as he tried to leave but they followed him down the road, the investigative report said.
