Ruby Chaney Sheffield, 82, of Moultrie, died Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Cook Senior Living Center in Adel.
Graveside rites will be 11 a.m., Saturday, March 29, at Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens with the Rev. William Davis officiating.
Born Aug. 24, 1931, in Moultrie, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Chaney Sr. and Rebecca Worley Chaney. She was associated with Warner’s for several years, and then went back to school to become an licensed practical nurse. She retired as a licensed practical nurse with Colquitt Regional Medical Center, with 22 years of service. She was a member of Tyson United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Emory Sheffield; and one brother, Robert Lee Chaney Jr.
Survivors include two sons, James C. Sheffield and wife Sandra of Doerun and Gary Sheffield of Tallahassee, Fla.; three grandchildren, Rebecca Sheffield of Land O’ Lakes, Fla., and Chris Sheffield and wife Liz, and David Sheffield, all of Adel; one great-grandchild, Ethan Sheffield; four sisters, Annette Tiveron, Linda Chaney, Susie Spradlin and Jeanette Boatwright; and three brothers, Bobby Faulkner, W.L. Chaney and Charles Chaney.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the graveside service, on Saturday, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
