Deloris Knighton Fulton, 66, died Monday, March 3, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center in Jacksonville, Fla.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 10, at Mother Easter Baptist Church, where the Rev. Freddie Castle is pastor. The Rev. T.C. Mitchell will officiate. Burial will follow in the St. James Pallbearers Cemetery #2, with the repast to be concluded at the E.H. Hopkins Fellowship Hall. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Fulton was born on Dec. 20, 1947, In Moultrie to the late Willie Knighton and the late Katherine Davis Knighton.
“She was a faithful member of Faith Christian Center In Jacksonville, Fla.,” her family recalled. “She was a great and faithful member helping seniors on a mission. In her spare time she enjoyed drawing, visiting with family and friends and song-writing.”
She graduated from William Bryant High School Class of 1964.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Fulton Jr., and her parents.
She leaves to cherish her memories four daughters, Sharon Peterson (Clinton Jr.) of Moultrie, Michelle Mitchell (the Rev. T.C. Mltchel) of Thomasville, Bridgette Fulton-Hall (John) of Stewartsville, N.J., and Devetlse Fulton of Jacksonville, Fla.; three stepsons, David Fulton III, Tony Fulton (wife Tracy) and Dexter Fulton, all of Moultrie; three brothers, Morris “Mo” Knighton, Alphonso Knighton Sr. (Joyce) and Andrew “Boot” Knighton [Brenda), all of Moultrie; one sIster, Faye Knighton of Moultrie; eight grandchildren, Shedrick Knighton (Kalisha) and Tavia Peterson, both of Moultrie, MonIca Mitchell of Thomasville, Clinton Peterson III of Moultrie, T.C. Mitchell III, Myra Mitchel( and Mone’ka Mitchell, all of Thomasville, and Dejon Hall of Stewartsville, N.J.; four great-grandchildren; one special cousin, Army Jean Edwards of Warner Robins, Ga.; special sister-in-law, Naomi White-Knighton of Pocono, Pa.; four special friends, Mary Reese, Anna Harris, and Shirley “Kitty” Hampton, all of Moultrie, and Ned Tony of Macon; special niece and nephew that she helped rear, Mytecia Daniels of Moultrie and Edward Daniels of Indianapolis, Ind.; eight slsters-in-law and one brother-in-law, all of Jacksonville, Fla.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Final arrangements have been entrusted to Luke Strong And Son Mortuary, Ltd.
