Truck damaged in hit-and-run accident

A Moultrie motorist’s truck was damaged Thursday by a driver who drove away from the scene.
Andrew Penuel reported to Moultrie police that he was driving east on East Central Avenue in a 2004 Land Rover Discovery II when the driver of a black Chevrolet Blazer pulled in front of him.
Penuel told police that the driver of the Blazer drove into his path at the intersection of Hallmark Drive. The driver, whom he described as a Hispanic female, fled traveling east on West Central Avenue.
The Land Rover sustained extensive damage, police reports said.
In other property damage reports:
• Kenneth Edwards, Moultrie, reported Friday that a tire was slashed on a 2007 Chrysler 300.
Edwards told police that he had left the car parked in the 200 block of Sixth Street Southeast and when he drove away he noticed a loud noise. When he stopped to investigate he found that a rear tire had been flattened and that the entire passenger side had been scratched.
Edwards told police he did not know who would have damaged his car.
• Jazzlyn Harmon, of Moultrie, told police Thursday morning that her 1998 Nissan Maxima was damaged while it was parked in the 900 block of Sixth Street Northwest. The driver’s side window was broken and the tires on the driver’s side were flattened.

• Joseph Robinson, 44, 138 Beaver Circle, Brinson, Ga., was charged Friday with driving under the influence, expired license, canceled registration and no insurance.
• Antwan Kanovis James, 32, 324 10th St. S.E., was charged Thursday with probation violation.
• Ronald Jermaine Johnson, 29, 105 Fifth St. S.W., was charged Sunday with parole violation.
• Thelema Alvarado, 23, 506-A Country Drive, was charged with driving without a license and Ruben Fabian, 19, was charged with possession of alcohol by a minor following a traffic stop about 3 a.m. on Tallokas Road at South Main Street.
• Patsy Denise Brinson, 49, 1710 Holmes Drive, was charged Tuesday with no license and speeding.
• Jelessa Renae Holloway, 22, 616 Fourth St. S.W., was charged Tuesday with probation violation.
• Lucious Ben Severson, 71, 494 Clarence Norman Road, was charged Tuesday with possession of marijuana and taillights required.

• Sharman Ciarra Slaughter, 21, was charged Wednesday with driving while license suspended.
• Roger Dale Macklin Jr., 19, 1515 Fourth Ave. N.E., Apt. E-5, was charged with disorderly conduct.
Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office
• Kirby Luis Yon, 20, 114 Ashley Road, was charged with probation violation.
• Maurice Antwon Smith, 29, of Stone Mountain, was charged Wednesdasy with probation violation.
• Leon Harmon, 50, of Atlanta, was charged Wednesday with probation violation.
• Chester Lamar Callahan, 44, 3503 Old Adel Road, was charged Sunday with theft by taking. Charges of parole violation and bondsman off bond were added later.
• Ladow Horace Weaver, 47, 3370 Doerun-Norman Park Road, was charged Tuesday with reckless conduct and public drunkenness following an incident when he allegedly shot at John Reynolds of 3400 block Doerun-Norman Park Road.
Thefts
Moultrie Police Department
• Miyakia Lewis, 400 block 11th Court Southeast, reported Wednesday the theft of her driver’s license, birth certificate, debit and child support card and six Social Security cards from a 1997 Honda Accord.
The driver’s side window of the vehicle was broken to gain entry, police said.
• Russ Murphy, first block Fifth Street Southeast, reported Thursday the theft of three knives valued at $80.
Murphy told police that he suspects that a female acquaintance took them.
• Angela Twiggs, 100 block First Street Southwest, reported Thursday the theft of $2,828.
• Enmark, 915 First Ave. S.E., reported Thursday that a female pumped $9 worth of gasoline into an older red car and left without paying.
• Amy Herdin, 600 block Jefferson Street Southeast, reported Thursday the theft of a flat-screen computer monitor and networking box valued at $75 from a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office
• Sammy Weeks, 100 block Dandron Road, reported Friday the theft of an HP laptop computer and charger.
Weeks told an officer that when he returned home he found the door opened. He also reported that he had seen a male he recognized the previous two nights “snooping around the neighborhood,” sheriff’s reports said.
• Charlotte Dempsey, 300 block Cool Springs Road, Norman Park, reported Thursday the theft of an Arctic Cat all-terrain vehicle valued at $1,200.
Dempsey reported that the four-wheeler was in a shed with the key in the ignition and that she last saw it there on Wednesday.
• Charles Williams, 1000 block Second Avenue Northwest, reported Thursday the theft of a Whirlpool window air conditioner from a house in the 2300 block of Sylvester Drive.
Williams told the officer that the air conditioner was valued at $1,099 and that a Poulan tiller also was stolen.
• Debbie Mock, 100 block Lonesome Pine Trail, reported that a part for a firearm was shipped to her house and, according to United Parcel Service, was left under her carport Sept. 12. Mock said she’d been out of town about six weeks and the package was not there when she returned.
• Dylan Globerman, 100 block Twin Lakes Drive, told a deputy that his wallet was taken from his car Monday at Packer Park on Darbyshire Road.

Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office
• Patricia Simpson, Norman Park, reported Thursday that a man for whom she has a court order prohibiting contact followed and approached her in a store in the 600 block of Veterans Parkway.
• Walmart, 641 Veterans Parkway S., reported Thursday that a male damaged a BB pistol box while attempting to open it inside the store.
A store employee followed the male to a nearby apartment building but police were unable to locate him.
• Savannah Warner, 1900 block of Second Street Southeast, told a deputy Tuesday that someone cashed an old check of hers for $83.96 at Pizza Hut. The clerk who cashed the check had written a driver’s license number on it, but when police traced who that number belonged to, Warner said she did not know her. Nor did she know how the woman might have gotten hold of Warner’s old check.
