MOULTRIE — Norma Gaines Joyner, 89, of Moultrie died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, at Heritage Health Care.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at Baker-Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Home with burial in Sardis Cemetery. The Rev. Ron Shiver will officiate, and her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Joyner was born Sept. 30, 1920, in Nashville, Ga., the daughter of the late Hiram Gaines and Jewell Gaines. She was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Noah Joyner Jr.; a daughter, Janice Annette Hobbs; three brothers, Bernard Gaines, Clarence Gaines and Billy Gaines; and a sister, Marie Buckner.
Survivors include three sons, Steve Joyner and wife Barbara Edwards of Moultrie, John Joyner and wife Debbie Swords of Harlem, Ga., and Melvin Leon Joyner and wife Sharon of Saginaw, Texas; two daughters, Margaret Joyner Griner and husband Bobby R. of Moultrie and Rachel Joyner Moncrief and husband Ronnie of Thomasville; a brother, Morris Gaines and wife Betty Jean of Moultrie; two sisters, Juanita Sloan of Thomasville and Betty Chastain of Quitman; grandchildren, Travis Joyner, Teresa Williams (Ryan), Tim Joyner (Mandy), Andrew Joyner (Chrissy), Lee Joyner (Brandi), Rebecca Joyner, Sara Grayson (Corbin), Brady Joyner, Denise Brooking (Scott), Keith Griner (Monica), Ginger Jenkins, Rachel Bynum (Lamar), Chuck Moncrief (Rosie), Monty Melton, Mike Hobbs (Kim), Joe Hobbs (Lisa), Curtis Hobbs and Patty Morris; and 31 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-7 p.m. today, Feb. 18.
