Florence Roland Brown

MOULTRIE — Florence Roland Brown, 76, of Moultrie died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005 at The Woodlands at Cobblestone in Moultrie.

The funeral will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 10, at Emerald Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Roy Hicks officiating.

Born Oct. 30, 1929, in Colquitt County, she was the daughter of the late Molly Maude Green Roland and the late James Oliver Roland.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Earl Brown; a son, William Griffin; a daughter, Dorothy Capizzi, two brothers, G.W. and Grady Roland; and one sister, Hazel Betley.

Survivors include a son, Wayne Griffin of Moultrie; daughters, Robbie Searcy and husband Charles D. of Norman Park and Brenda Perkins and husband Mike of Jamestown, N.Y.; brothers, Ollie Roland of Sale City and Howard Roland of Camilla; sisters, Cleo Lane and Christine Stanfill, both of Moultrie; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 7 to 9.

Syvil Brazel Anderson

ORANGE PARK, Fla. — Syvil Brazel Anderson, 85, of Satsuma, Fla., died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005, in Orange Park Medical Center. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at Westview Cemetery in Moultrie with the Rev. J.E. Moak officiating.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Raleigh Anderson; her son, James R. Anderson Jr.; and son-in-law, Jerry W. Dyess Sr.

Survivors include one daughter, Elizabeth Dyess of Orange Park, Fla.; two sisters, Henrybelle Smith of Charleston, S.C., and Rachel Cowsert of Austin, Texas; two brothers, Reese Brazel of Sale City and Talmadge Brazel of Moultrie; three grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jerry Dyess Jr. of N.Y., Debbie Owens (Mike and Michael) of Jacksonville, Fla., Tina Owens (Jimmy and Amanda) of Orlando, Fla.; and many nieces, nephews and loving friends.

Ruth Harrell Bobo

COMMERCE, Ga. — Ruth Harrell Bobo, 82, formerly of Moultrie, died Monday, Nov. 7, 2005, in Commerce, Ga.

The funeral will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 10, at Alapaha Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Gibbs officiating. Burial will follow at Fletcher Cemetery with the deacons of Alapaha Baptist Church serving as pallbearers.

Born Oct. 13, 1923, in Colquitt County, she was the daughter of the late Mary Vann Butler Harrell and the late Rev. Lucious Harrell and a retired public school teacher.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. George Walton Bobo; and four brothers, Arthur Harrell, E.J. Harrell, Harvey Harrell and Carl Thomas Harrell.

Survivors include three sons, George William Bobo and wife Barbara of Clayton, Ga., David Michael Bobo and wife Patsy of Statesboro, Ga., and John Alvin Bobo of Kennesaw Mountain, Ga.; sister, Lois Cloonan of Statesboro, Ga.; grandchildren, Alvin Rocker Bobo, Robert Michael Bobo, Laura Ann Bobo and Cole Bobo; and great-grandchild, Andrew Michael Bobo.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Nov. 10, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Wilma Nell Shiflett Brazel

ALBANY — Wilma Nell Shiflett Brazel, 81, formerly of Moultrie, died Monday, Nov. 7, 2005, at Morningside Assisted Living in Albany.

The funeral will be held 11 a.m. today at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. J.E. Moak officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memory Garden with Jimmy Yarborough, Jesse Butler, Ed Griffin, Kim Clark, Alan Shiflett and Billy Thompson serving as pallbearers.

Born March 4, 1924, in Cook County, she was the daughter of the late Myrtice Elizabeth Harris Shiflett and the late Hugh Edward Shiflett.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Otis Shiflett.

Survivors include her husband, Talmadge T. Brazel of Albany; daughter, Marie Brazel Watson-Allen and husband Randy of Albany; brother, Al Shiflett and wife Shirley of Tallahassee; sisters, Christine Martin of Uvalda, Ga., and Laurine Griffin of Moultrie; and three grandchildren, Justin Watson, Jeff Watson and Laci Allen.

Wilburn C. Tucker

COLUMBUS, Ga. — Retired Staff Sgt. Wilburn C. Tucker, 82, of Columbus, Ga., died Monday, Nov. 7, 2005, at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at Beallwood Baptist Church in Columbus with the Rev. Larry Tucker and the Rev. Billy Duncan officiating. Interment will follow with full military honors at Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mildred M. Tucker of Columbus, Ga.; three daughters, Ann Hogue and husband Ray of Terre Haute, Ind., Wanda Upchurch and husband Ken of Marietta and Pam Saknini and husband Dan of Tucker; a son, Larry Tucker and wife Margerette of Harrisonburg, La.; a sister, Dean Taylor and husband Curtis of Moultrie; a brother, Bennett Tucker and wife Margaret of Moultrie; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Annie Lee Bridges Goldsmith

ALBANY — Annie Lee Bridges Goldsmith, 86, of Albany died Monday, Nov. 7, 2005, at Palmyra Medical Center in Albany.

Graveside rites will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Ronald Barrett and the Rev. Keith Marchant officiating.

Born Dec. 3, 1918, in Colquitt County, Ms. Goldsmith was the daughter of the late Ella Estell Sasser Bridges and the late Noah Williamson Bridges. She was a farmer and a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church in Doerun.

Survivors include two daughters, Doyce Davis and husband Leroy and Sylvia Sheffield, all of Albany; two brothers, Olin Bridges and wife Avis of Moultrie and Ezra Bridges and wife Rosa of Charlottesville, Va.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Barbara Jean Lillvik Whittle

MOULTRIE — Barbara Jean Lillvik Whittle, 67, of Moultrie died Monday, Nov. 7, 2005, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Graveside rites will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Douglas E. Whittle officiating.

Born Aug. 5, 1938, in Putnam County, Fla., Mrs. Whittle was the daughter of the late Mamie Revels Lillvik and the late Donald Lillvik. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband, Dorough Jim Whittle of Moultrie; three sons, Donald James Whittle of Crestview, Fla., Douglas Eugene Whittle of Ocala, Fla. and Tommy Lynn Whittle of Moultrie; a daughter, Mary Ann Kenrick of Troup, Texas; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at the funeral home.
