Charlie Pace Jr.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Mr. Charlie Pace Jr., 85, died Saturday, March 13, 2004, at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Luke Strong and Son Mortuary chapel with the Rev. Eugene Herring officiating.
Born Oct. 17, 1918, in Terrell County, Mr. Pace was the son of the late Charlie Pace Sr. and Emma McFee Pace.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Johnny Pace; and one sister, Annie Lou Key.
Survivors include his wife, Maxie McBurrows Pace of New Jersey; three brothers, James Pace and wife Grace, Marshall Pace and wife Bertha and David Pace and wife Mozell, all of Moultrie; two sisters, Eunice Hall and husband Charlie of Moultrie and Stella Pace Herring and husband Theodore of Tallahassee; his sister-in-law, Beulah Pace of Moultrie; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

MOULTRIE — Mr. Celious White, 59, of Moultrie died Friday, March 19, 2004, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
Arrangements will be announced by Luke Strong and Son Mortuary.
James Edward Warren
NORMAN PARK — Mr. James Edward Warren, 70, of Norman Park died Thursday, March 18, 2004, at his residence.
The family will meet for lunch at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, March 21, at New Hope Baptist Church. The funeral procession will go from there to Leila Methodist Church for the service at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Lennon Howell officiating and the Rev. Dan Robinson and the Rev. Robert Alexander assisting. Music will be provided by the New Hope Singers. Burial will follow at Leila Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Greg Sauls, Ray Dean Sauls, Donnie Warren, Dewayne Warren, Randall Norman, James Regan, J.J. Sumner and Jeffery Sauls.
Born on May 29, 1933, in Colquitt County, Mr. Warren was the son of the late J.C. Warren and Annie Lear Willis Warren. He was a retired farmer and a founding member of New Hope Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hilda Sauls Warren; his stepson, Terrell Weeks; his son-in-law, Kenneth Paul Snow; and his brother, Felton Warren.
Survivors include his wife, Nell Weeks Warren; his son, William (Bud) Warren of Norman Park; four daughters, Vickey W. Snow Harsey and husband Stanley of Enigma, Edna King and Jackie Ethridge and husband Robby, all of Lenox, and Nancy Deming and husband Tim of Panama City, Fla.; two stepsons, Randy Weeks and wife Audrey of Moultrie and Lyn Weeks and wife Cindy of Norman Park; his stepdaughter-in-law, Donna Kay Weeks of Norman Park; his sister, Jean Fender and husband Billy of Omega; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Martin and Lois Warren; 23 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two special friends, Russell and Sudie Nasworthy; and his dog, Sam.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Mildred Argo Kirkwood
MOULTRIE — Mrs. Mildred Argo Kirkwood, 84, of Moultrie died Thursday, March 18, 2004, at her residence.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 21, at Hopewell Baptist Church with the Rev. Julian Griner officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery.
Born Oct. 11, 1919, in Colquitt County, Mrs. Kirkwood was the daughter of the late Mary Jane Hart Argo and William B. Argo. She was retired from Sears in the catalog order department and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.
Mrs. Kirkwood was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin R. Kirkwood.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Rogers and husband Gary of Moultrie and Pam Austin and husband Bruce of Thomasville; one brother, Robert Argo, and one sister, Myrtle Massey, both of Phenix City, Ala.; five grandchildren, Millecent Dean, Meritt Stolze, Melissa Smith, Travis Smith and Julie Smith; and five great-grandchildren, Alexx Smith, Marina Kastelic, Seth Kastelic, Randy Stolze and Maitlyn Stolze.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 tonight at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Dennis Lee Elrod
MOULTRIE — Mr. Dennis Lee Elrod, 55, of Moultrie died Thursday, March 18, 2004, at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 21, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Dee, the Rev. Steve Comer, the Rev. Stanley Norman and the Rev. Randy Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Murphy Cemetery.
Born April 7, 1948, in Colquitt County, Mr. Elrod was the son of Alberta Chance Elrod of Moultrie and the late Otis Elrod. He was a construction foreman for Frucon Construction and attended Christian Crusade Church. Mr. Elrod served in the Marines during Vietnam.
He was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Lee Elrod Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy Rowell Elrod of Moultrie; his mother, Alberta Chance Elrod of Moultrie; one son, Jamie Steven Elrod and wife Pam of Ellenton; four sisters, Laverne Norman and husband Joe, Larue Calhoun and husband Jack, Myra Norman and husband Roger and Annette Tillman and husband Jerry, all of Moultrie; two grandchildren, Brandon Lee Elrod and Peyton Madison Elrod; one stepgrandchild, Ashley Seth Benton; two brothers-in-law, Tommy Rowell and wife Charlotte of Louisiana, Mo., and Norman Rowell and wife Cathy of Norman Park; two sisters-in-law, Susan McMillan of Crosland and Anna Tillman and husband Robert of Norman Park; his mother-in-law, Lessie Byrd of Crosland; and his father-in-law, Edgar Byrd of Crosland.

Arthur Jackson Hembree
DOERUN — Mr. Arthur Jackson Hembree, 83, of Doerun died Thursday, March 18, 2004, at Phoebe Putney Hospital in Albany.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 21, at Doerun First Baptist Church with the Rev. Clovis Jackson, the Rev. John Forsman and Mr. Elkin Chatman officiating. Burial will follow at Doerun Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Jimmy Hembree, Darrell Hembree, Billy Wilkes, Tony Thomason, Cal Tarrant, Dan Holmes and Derrick Handfield. Honorary casketbearers will be deacons and Sunday school class members.
Born May 22, 1920, in Hart County, Mr. Hembree was the son of the late Gertie Hall Hembree and Richard Francis Hembree Sr. He was a retired farmer and a member of Doerun First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by Sarah Hembree, Charles Hembree, Mildred Bridwell, Helen Hughes, Owen Hembree and E.B. Hembree.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Canon Hembree of Doerun; two daughters, Jackie Denby and husband Charles of Doerun and Abbie Bunch and husband L.D. of Lavonia; four brothers, Richard Hembree and Broadus Hembree, both of Doerun, Howard Hembree of Byron and Ted Russell of Albany; two sisters, Becky Smith of Sylvester and Alice Striplin of Kernersville, N.C.; six grandchildren, Greg Tillery, Molly Handfield, Missy Holmes, Leigh Andrea Wilkes, Mandy Tarrant and Marla Thomason; and 14 great-grandchildren, Blake Wilson, Clint Handfield, Ryan Holmes, Brandon Tarrant, Matt Tillery, Brittany Handfield, Drew Tillery, Tiffany Wilkes, Jason Holmes, Kelsie Tarrant, Dreyk Tarrant, Kylie Wilkes, Jacob Thomason and Elijah Thomason.

Nadine Murphy Borom
THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Nadine Murphy Borom, 95, of Thomasville died Friday, March 19, 2004, at Camellia Gardens Nursing Home in Thomasville.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 21, at Murphy Cemetery with the Rev. J.E. Moak officiating.
Born Oct. 31, 1908, Mrs. Borom was the daughter of the late Luther Perry Murphy and Lena Pickett Murphy. She was an elementary school teacher in the public school system, a member of the Colquitt County Retired Teachers Association and a member of First Baptist Church in Moultrie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas G. Borom; her son, Douglas Guerry Borom III; and three sisters, Lois Inez Murphy White, Hope Murphy Baker and Marie Murphy Megahee.
Survivors include two brothers, L.P. Murphy Jr. and wife Dot of Tampa, Fla., and Lewis Wilson Murphy of Vero Beach, Fla.; one sister, Donita Murphy Turner of Murphy; and 12 nieces and nephews.

ALBANY — Ms. Margie Addison Garnto, 79, died Friday, March 19, 2004, at Palmyra Medical Center in Albany.
