Thief snatches $1,400 from man’s pocket

MOULTRIE, Ga. — A thief made off with more than $1,400 that was taken on Friday from a Moultrie man’s pants pocket inside a convenience store.

Frank Clark, 40, reported that the theft occurred at about 6:20 p.m. at the store in the 400 block of First Street Southeast. He had just placed the money in his pocket when someone grabbed it and ran from the store.

Store video showed a young male watching as Clark put the money in his pocket and then reaching in and taking the $1,420 in cash, police said.

The suspect was described as a black male with a fade style haircut, red shorts and a black shirt.

Moultrie Police

• Kenny Davis, 35, reported Friday the theft of a 2009 Cadillac CTS from Second Street and Fourth Avenue Southwest.

Davis told police that he left the car, valued at $9,600, at that location the previous night because of mechanical problems and had someone pick him up. When he returned the next morning it was not there.

• Dwight Avallone, 1000 block Sixth Avenue Southeast, reported Saturday the theft of a new LG-SF3 cell phone valued at $139.

Avallone fell asleep while a female acquaintance was inside the residence, he told police, and when he woke up both she and the phone were gone.

• Fastenal, 1624 First Ave. S.E., reported Friday the theft of a car tag for a 2018 Dodge Ram truck.

An employee reported that a delivery company’s records indicated the tag was delivered but it was not found at the business. It was valued at $1.

• Francis Daniel, 73, reported Friday the theft of her wallet in the 600 block of Veterans Parkway South.

Daniel told police that while she was turned to get an item from a store shelf someone grabbed the wallet. It contained $67.

• Michael Johnson, 100 block Cox Lane, reported Sunday the theft of a Mac tool box and tools inside, hand and air tools, four paint guns, two hand dollies, Snap-On electric ratchet and a 20-foot extension ladder from the 700 block of Hurst Road, Hartsfield.

• Williams Produce, 111 Cabbage Road, reported Friday the theft or property valued at $791.

• Deon Maurice Collins, 26, 839 Shy Manor Drive, was charged Monday with driving with suspended or revoked license and tail lights required.

• Luis Santiago Ochua-Palomeque, 107 Arrowhead Lane, was charged Saturday with driving without license and speeding.

• Shannon Thomas Hancock, 26, 1345 Alton Road, Norman Park, was charged Friday with driving without license and no insurance.

• Winston Edward Bailey, 45, 318 First St. N.W., was charged Saturday with driving under the influence (refused test).

• Gary Lee Carlton, 30, 1711 Old Camilla Hwy., was charged Thursday with interference with 911 phone call.

• Eric Aparicio, 18, Norman Park, was charged Sunday with pedestrian under the influence.

• Dylan Reed Seth Tillery, 25, 114 Cool Springs Church Road, Ellenton, was charged Saturday with theft by deception and theft by receiving stolen property.

• Paul Rodriguez, 26, 2803 Sylvester Drive, was charged Saturday with driving under the influence, open container in vehicle, failure to drive within single lane and driving without license.

• Kiontae Yturri Green, 20, 114 Ninth Ave. S.E., was charged Friday with no insurance.

• Soey Shepard, 1300 block Murdock Street, reported Sunday that a male relative grabbed her hair and threw her to the ground.

Shepard told police that she was attacked when she tried to run from the man during an argument and he chased her down.

Moultrie Police

• Daniel Jones, 24, reported Saturday that a male acquaintance approached him at his work place in the 600 block of Veterans Parkway South, used vulgar language toward him and then hit him, resulting in a fight.

• Rachel Williams, 1000 block 10th Street Southeast, reported Saturday that a female acquaintance slammed the screen door of her residence so hard that the bottom screen fell out.

Williams told police that the woman was causing a disturbance outside her residence because she would not come to the door and that she heard the woman make threats before slamming the screen door.

• Joseph Fitzpatrick, 200 block Tallokas Road, reported Saturday that he found the glass broken on his side door when he returned home.

The suspect threw a can of roofing tar from the garage into the door, police said.

Fitzpatrick told police that no one entered the residence because of his dog.

Damage was estimated at less than $500.

• Kyle Hiers, 1700 block Highway 33 South, reported Friday that 18 chickens, valued at $82, were killed, apparently by roaming dogs from the neighborhood.

• Belinda Paul, 500 block Cherokee Drive, Norman Park, reported Saturday that she saw someone trying to open her car door.

Paul said she was alerted by her dogs barking loudly at 1:38 a.m.
