Almost 4 pounds of marijuana found in car trunk
MOULTRIE, Ga. — A Friday afternoon traffic stop in Moultrie led police to find a quarter-pound of marijuana inside an Albany man’s car.
Moultrie police, acting on a tip, had a Georgia State Patrol trooper assist with the stop of Stanley Wilson’s Mazda 6 in the 400 block of Veterans Parkway North.
When police asked whether there was anything in the car they should know about he answered in the affirmative, and when asked for details said there was marijuana in his car.
Wilson told police that his passenger, who was riding to work with him to Sanderson Farms, knew nothing about the marijuana.
He told police the marijuana was in the trunk and gave officers permission to search the car, police said.
During the search police found about 3.9 pounds of suspected marijuana in a duffel bag in the trunk that Wilson pointed out to them.
Wilson, 37, 1412 Gillespie Road, Albany, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Wilson’s passenger was not charged.
