Babysitter charged with molesting child

LIVE OAK, Fla. — A Live Oak man was arrested last month on charges of molesting a child he babysits.

According to the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office, the victim told her mother that on Jan. 24, 38-year-old Wade Prue, who was used as a babysitter for the victim and her siblings, took off her clothes and also indicated that he touched her in a private area.

During a CPT interview at UF Health Shands Hospital, the victim allegedly said the suspect also took off his clothes, exposed himself and then touched the victim’s leg with his privates, the SCSO report states.

Based on that interview and an examination, it was determined the victim had injuries to her vaginal area consistent with sexual battery and that biological evidence was found on the victim, according to the report.

The report states that the suspect was responsible for providing care to the victim and her siblings after school, but the two siblings said the suspect told them they could not stay on Jan. 24 after they were dropped off by the bus.

According to the report, the victim was told to come inside and to stay.

Prue was charged with sexual battery and lewd lascivious behavior, molest victim less than 12 years old.
