Senior living facility raising money for the Alzheimer’s Association

MOULTRIE — Legacy Village at Park Regency will be having its annual Fall Festival to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association on Oct. 27, from 5 to 7 p.m.

The senior living facility has a memory care unit so this is something that is a priority with them, said Tara Dawkins, life enrichment coordinator. They have different fundraisers for the Alzheimer’s Association throughout the year.

“We have such a great team that comes together to make it special for everyone,” she said.

Events that will be held at the Fall Festival are a 50/50 raffle, a silent auction and a bake sale. There will also be carnival games and face painting for the kids. The Kona Ice truck will be there along with other food trucks.

Dawkins said that anyone who would like to make a monetary donation to the fundraiser for the Alzheimer Association is welcome to at the event. Also, they would be very appreciative of donations of baked goods for the bake sale and donations for the silent auction.

“Donations of candy for the kids would be great and we can definitely use volunteers to run the carnival games,” she said, and added that carnival game prizes would be welcome, too.

For more information on how to donate, call Dawkins at (229) 890-3342.

Right now, Dawkins said, they are also looking for some hay bales to use as a back drop for their photo booth.

“It’s just going to be a good time. All proceeds go the the Alzheimer’s Association,” she said.
