“In reference to the rant about all of great allies helping us in Iraq. Outside of Great Britain, the remainder of your list constitutes little more than a Brownie troop.
Kerry’s service
“Sen. John McCain has gone on record as a Republican opposed to the attack of his party colleagues in belittling John Kerry’s military service.
And now we learn that those speaking out against Kerry who said they served with him were merely in the vicinity and not on his boat. That’s like saying two guys named Fred live in Chicago and they probably know each other.
Bush, on the other hand, may have served well in the National Guard. But as we all know, the National Guard in those days was a way out of going to war, unlike the role of the Guard and Reservists today.
Bush
“George Bush will take Georgia and then we will know Georgians want someone who will stand up for what’s right.
School attire
“If parents will buy clothes to fit the students, then the school wouldn’t have the issues with the students. The boys can’t keep their baggy pants up and the girls are hanging out of their clothes.
Good luck
“Good luck to all those competing in the national diving event in Moultrie this week. Did anyone else notice that all five young women of the Moss Farms team were also members of the Moultrie YMCA’s gymnastics team? Success breeds success.
Choices
“There’s a front-page story of young African-American males arrested on burglary charges. Another front page story shows a group of young people trying to do well. The choices we make dictate the life we lead and live.
Farmers
“Support our farmers. If they are not in business, then we’re in trouble.
Heat factor
“Who is creating our school calendar with the fall quarter beginning at the end of July? School buses aren’t air-conditioned. Students are having to put wet rags on their heads.
Free-loaders
“Of course school lunches are going up, with all the free-loaders we have to support. Again, this hits the hard-working middle class.
Not food, not fiber
“Tobacco is neither food nor fiber. It is a non-essential in the big picture. Then it is also a burden on good health and health services, eventually costing taxpayers large sums of money to build health facilities, maintain them — not to mention higher insurance premiums. It should never have been a quota supported commodity in the first place.
Welcome
“A big welcome to all the visitors in town this week for the national diving competition.
Thanks to Bush
“Where were you Bush haters when the airliners crashed into the World Trade center? Three thousand people died. Not a few, not a couple dozen, 3,000 innocent people died. And the terrorist promise more of the same and you people want to talk about an alleged slip in a speech.
I heard the same speech and I knew exactly what he meant. Thank God for an American president who will not back down from unpopular choices to keep us safe.
Bad news
“Couldn’t we have some worse stories on the front page? I imagine all of our diving meet visitors really see this as a safe wholesome place to visit.
Bike trail
“Isn’t it time for the city to finish the bike trail? Or did we build it strictly for the kudzu?
Need info
“The newspaper needs to explain more about the spraying fields that Sanderson Farms will use.
Will they be wet all of the time?
Does this create a problem with mosquitoes with all those wet fields?
Will that water get into my well water?
Kids and heat
“I remember when kids ran and played without having their parents crying to the coaches to take their babies inside.
Kids can handle it and the coaches know what they are doing so stop this coddling.
Dog problem
“Why do people in Norman Park complain about a person parking their semi on the side of the street every once in while but their dogs can take defecate in everyone else’s yard. I don’t drive a semi but I am tired of the dog dumping in my yard. Is there something that can be done about the dogs in Norman Park?
Comparison
“John Kerry and George Bush both graduated from Yale. Kerry’s GPA was in the “C” range and Bush’s was in the “B” range.
Bush’s SAT score was 1206, which would be a 1285 by today’s standards.
That puts Bush in the 97th percentile. Kerry’s SAT scores are not available, just like military medical records.
Bush earned his Air Force pilots wings and flew many hours in the F-102 (a very demanding, single seat fighter aircraft).
Kerry captained a small boat in which he only had to give orders to others. Now, which one is the ‘doofus’ here?
Bush gaffes
“Yes, we all know what Bush really meant when he goofed up his remarks on terrorism. That’s what happens, though, when you are reading something someone else prepared for you and especially when you have trouble speaking in the first place.
More comparison
“You Republicans keep talking about Kerry’s lack of qualifications.
Bush was a failed businessman operating with daddy’s money. He has a history of boozing. He has great difficulty speaking. He does not read. And he was not elected by the populace.
Now tell me again the case you have made against Kerry.
Parking problem
“I support the Diving facility in our community, but we have a problem. Parking!
Build a parking lot on the side of the Rec. Office and this would solve the problem.
The big words
“Much has been made about Bush continuing to read to a group of children when he was told the nation was under attack.
This was very understandable. He was trying to finish a sentence with a big word in it. Haven’t you seen him in action?
