‘Awaken: art+yoga’ begins on Saturday
DALTON, Ga. — The Creative Arts Guild and the Wrens Nest Center for Wellbeing announce a new partnership pairing art with yoga — “Awaken: art+yoga.” This is a new series of morning yoga sessions hosted by Yoga by Cindy and the Wrens Nest Center for Wellbeing in the Creative Arts Guild’s gallery and grounds on the second Saturday of each month. The first session is this Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. “Art will inspire the intention of our yoga practice and a closing meditation,” Cindy Michaels said. Join Michaels and others as the group explores the many layers of “INVASIVE!” and experience how art informs yogic practice and how yogic practice informs one’s experience of art. Bring your own mat if you have one (props too if you prefer). There will be a few available to use — first come, first serve. All “Awaken” sessions are free and open to the public but $5 suggested donations are appreciated. For more information, contact Savannah Thomas at 706-279-3129 or savannaht@creativeartsguild.org.
