Rants and Raves

Good point: “You make a good point about the cost of cancer drugs. I have to pay enormous amounts out of my pocket beyond my insurance to cover my expensive cancer drugs. I consider myself middle class. I’ve worked hard all my life and lived within the law and tried to help my fellowman. I’m having to liquidate what I have now to buy my medicine to stay alive. I soon won’t be in the middle class anymore. I wonder what kind of health care we would have in this nation if our congressmen were on the same playing field? Just curious.

In response

“Yes I can tell you of three instances right off hand where innocent people got killed in drive-by shootings. They were just minding their business and enjoying life when coward thugs opened fire in their direction.

It’s about understanding

“Climate change isn’t something that you either believe in or not. Reporters should stop asking politicians if they believe in climate change, and instead ask if they understand climate change.

Lame television

“Mr. Walden I enjoyed your column about Chuck Norris and especially the one Thursday where you talked about playing games with lame television. No one would even watch ‘Naked and Afraid’ except for the fact that you have a woman and a man with their britches off. That issue alone is the epitome of ‘lame’ television and as you say, ‘feeding small minds.’

Your chuckle

“Your chuckle of the day recently summed up the global warming issue quite well. ‘I’m cold today therefore there is no global warming. I just ate and my belly is full, therefore there is world hunger.’

Child alert

“I ask this, The federal government is more than likely going to require child alert reminders installed on new vehicles to remind you your child is in the back seat (think about that now); does that not make you proud to be part of this society that the United States of America has become?

Mother Nature

“So you don’t think we are experiencing climate change? Well I can tell you this, Mother Nature will have the last laugh.

Observation

“Perhaps you haven’t observed, but the people who argue against the idea of global warming the most are probably the least educated among us. I’m guessing they still think the sun ‘comes up.’
