Memorial Day observance planned for Monday

MOULTRIE, Ga. — Cobb Funeral Chapel will sponsor its annual Memorial Day Service at 9 a.m. Monday, May 29, at Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens on Highway 37 West between Moultrie and Funston.

Speaker for the event will be the Rev. Warren Gilpin. The Colquitt County High School Junior ROTC will present the colors, and the John Benning chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will dedicate a wreath.

Special music will be  by vocalist Julie West and musician Penny Hancock.

Flags will be given in memory of veterans by the Veterans Activity Committee and Woodmen of the World Lodge 104 in Moultrie.

There will be a salute by the Patriot Guard Riders, and refreshments will be provided by the Moultrie Federated Guild.
