CRMC physician receives Woman of Worth award

MOULTRIE — Dr. Maria Chona Aloba, medical director of the hematology/oncology department at Colquitt Regional Medical Center, was the recipient of the 2005 Women of Worth Award presented at Darton College’s 2005 Friends of the College Celebration.

The award, given by the Southwest Georgia Center for Women, was presented to Aloba for her work treating, counseling and consoling her cancer patients.

“Her humility, kindness, and compassionate care for her patients set her apart,” said Karly Boyd, development associate for the Southwest Georgia Center for Women. “Dr. Aloba has been described as a compassionate, dedicated, excellent physician and a very high achiever. She spends a great deal of her time counseling, consoling and answering questions. We are very fortunate that Dr. Aloba has chosen to practice in Southwest Georgia.”

Aloba has also been named one of America’s Top Physicians by the Consumer Research Council of America.
